The official PDF says babies under one do not need their eyes open. For children under ten, face height, eye position, expression, and line of sight may be relaxed. The child must still appear alone in a clear frontal photo, without chair backs, toys, or another person visible; the mouth should be closed and the expression neutral.

Clean scan is enabled by default for signatures and thumb impressions; it whitens uneven paper and shadows while darkening the mark. The processed preview is exactly what the tool downloads.
The live OCI upload screen says a blank page may be uploaded when a thumb impression is not possible. It does not say that every child may skip the signature or thumb impression. Use the blank file only when that condition applies to your application.

No. The tool guarantees the generated dimensions, JPEG format, file-size ceiling, and alphanumeric filename. Government or VFS reviewers can still reject composition, identity, document, or application details.
